Jorge Van Den Brande is a Strategic Project Development Director who turns complex regulatory challenges into viable investment opportunities by expertly navigating the approval processes that make or break large-scale developments across diverse industries. Jorge believes that successful projects require more than just technical excellence; they need someone who understands that regulatory compliance, stakeholder alignment, and strategic planning must work seamlessly together from day one.

Jorge has been involved in advancing projects representing more than A$8 billion in combined value with 18+ years expertise combining projects across industries, managing approvals for large-scale SSD and SSI developments spanning renewable energy in Australia, mining, oil and gas, aviation, limestone extraction, flower growing, and urban/regional planning projects internationally. His expertise encompasses regulatory compliance, grid connection, EIS preparation, and environmental assessments across this diverse portfolio of sectors, with individual assets ranging from hundreds of millions to several billion dollars. Currently he is advancing a $5.8B renewable development in Australia through intricate approval processes while building streamlined systems that reduce timeline risks for future projects.

Jorge is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP), has also served as Chair for the assessment of applicants under the EIANZ CEnvP Scheme; and is currently progressing through the Renewable Energy Approval Practitioner (REAP) program. He holds a BSc in Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources from Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho University, with further specialised training at the University of Cambridge and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

When he is not orchestrating multi-billion dollar developments, Jorge can be found working on ways to de-risk projects earlier in the development cycle and streamline assessments and approvals for consultants and developers, providing consultancy services for larger consulting firms, while exploring innovations in sustainable urban planning and staying current with Australia's evolving clean energy policy landscape.
